jQuery version needs updating

GraffitiCMS hard codes the jQuery version that will be loaded by the $macros.Head() macro. Currently it's defined as "jquery-1.4.2.min.js" whether it's fetched from Microsoft's CDN or stored locally, and has been at this version since early last year.
I'd like to use features from the latest jQuery 1.6.1 but I've got a dilemma. Sure I can alter the Macros.cs code and recompile, but it makes a mess of refreshing from the repository (been there, done that, trying to avoid the mess). Alternately, I can just hard code what the $macros.Head() macro returns in my layout.view but then I could be making it difficult to then keep in lockstep with other changes.
So, any chance of (1) updating Macros.cs or, better, (2) making the version of jQuery a configuration option. For the latter, rather than alter the config screen at this late stage, just put it in web.config's appSettings and get it from there.

In the meantime you could do this: $macros.Head().Replace('jquery-1.4.2', 'jQuery-1.6.1')
