ASP.NET MVC?

Feb 9, 2010 at 10:49 AM

I was wondering if for version 2.0 it is being discussed to move towards version asp.net MVC??

Currently i think it uses asp.net but with Routing???

It would be great to see it move towards MVC and move away from controls and use pure HTML and the addition of Jquery etc

Anybody know the direction this is going?

I've been thinking about it, but not sure how practical it is in the short term. Graffiti CMS is not currently a MVC application, but it is not your typical Web Forms app either. I like to think of it as being somewhere in between. :)

On the public side, we use URL Routing (which comes from the MVC bits) and the NVelocity template engine to render pages, with ajax to submit data. We do use traditional web forms in the admin area.

It is certainly possible to have a hybrid web application, where some parts are MVC based. Perhaps in the 2.0+ time frame we could start migrating the admin area to use ASP.NET MVC if there is sufficient interest and resources. It would involve a lot of rewriting of though.
