Reports

Graffiti’s report tool allows you to evaluate user activity on your Web site.

Graffiti shows you which content users are viewing most, the days which have the most and least activity, and user comments, and allows you to produce daily, monthly, and yearly reports analyzing all of this statistical information. When you navigate to Reporting on the navigation bar, the Reporting for the Last Thirty Days page opens.

The report tool has the following features:
  • View default report information
  • Report by date range
  • Customize date range

View Default Report Information

Graffiti provides the following default reporting information on this page:
  • Views by Date
  • Views by Post (Top 10)
  • Comments by Date
  • Comments by Post (Top 10)
The information for most reports is presented in line graph format. The points of each graph are active. When you drag your cursor across a point on the graph, Graffiti displays additional information about the user activity for that day, as shown below:

2.jpg
The graph shows that users viewed 1,210posts on 5 June. If you click on the graph point (1,210 in the example above), Graffiti displays a page with the list of posts viewed that day.

Graffiti provides this same statistical breakdown functionality for all line graphs.

Views by Date

The Views by Date line graph shows the user activity for the previous 30-day period. You can view a breakdown of the activity for a specific day by selecting the point on the graph for that day. An example of the Views by Date line graph is shown above.

Views by Post (Top 10)

The Views by Post (Top 10) line graph shows in ascending order the posts most frequently accessed by visitors to your Web site.

3.jpg
Each line of the graph, which represents one of the 10 most frequently viewed posts on your Web site, is an active link. When you click a line, Graffiti provides you with the user activity associated with the post for the last 30 days.

4.jpg
As with all line graphs, the points on the graph are active so you can click on them for a breakdown of activity for that day. You can select any of the tabs above the report to modify the report’s date range.

You can also access reports for individual posts. When you navigate to the list of posts, you will see a Reports link.

5.png
When you click Reports, Graffiti displays a Views by Date report for the post, indicating the number of users who have viewed the post, average viewers per day, number of comments, and the number of comments awaiting approval.

Comments by Date

The Comments by Date line graph shows how many comments have been added to by visitors to your site and the dates on which they were added.

7.png
Click on a point on the graph to see a breakdown of the comments for that day. The example below shows that 3 comments were added on 12 June.

8.jpg
When you click on the point represented by 3, Graffiti shows you that the comments were made to the Graffiti Showcase post.

9.jpg
If you click on the line on the graph, Graffiti opens the post so you can scroll down and view the posts.

10.png
Comments by Post (Top 10)

The Comments by Post (Top 10) line graph shows in ascending order the posts for which your Web site visitors have added comments.

11.png
If you click a line on the graph, Graffiti provides you with the user activity associated with the comment for the last 30 days.

12.png
You can click on the points on the graph for a breakdown showing the posts for which comments were added for that day. You can also select any of the tabs above the report to modify the report’s date range.

Report by Date Range

The default report tool page includes a list of tabs across the top.

13.png
You can modify the data included in any of the reports by selecting the desired tab. Most of the tabs are self-descriptive. For example, if you click today, Graffiti displays only the activity for the current date in the reports. If you click forever, Graffiti displays the all historical activity in the reports. If you click custom, you can further narrow the range of dates for your report.
!!Customize Date Range
You can customize your reporting date range if you want a range more specific than any provided by the tabs. When you click custom, Graffiti provides data fields for you to enter a range of dates.

14.png
You can enter the range by clicking the calendars next to the between and and fields or manually entering the dates in the fields. Click Run Report to display the default reports based on the date range you specified.
